or Miskolc accommodation? Miskolc is a city in northeast Hungary, mainly with heavy industrial background. Miskolc is the third-largest city of Hungary and the county capital of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén. The city is encircled by the scenic Bükk Mountains.
The most notable attractions are outside the city but there are quite a few in the city as well. One of the most treasured monuments in the city is the Greek Orthodox Church, which was built in the 18th century in late Baroque style. It preserves the memory of the Greek merchants, who settled in the city. The greatest Greek Orthodox collection may be seen in the Hungarian Orthodox Church Museum in Miskolc and the biggest functioning ecclesiastical building of the region is the Synagogue with a neo Romanesque-Moorish style. Its three-aisled interior is one of the most scenic in Hungarian Synagogues.
The city is very rich in museums and includes The Otto Herman Museum which shows the history of Miskolc and there is also an exhibition of minerals. Other attractions are Palace Hotel 'alota szálló' beautiful hotel with Renaissance restaurant, lake Hámori 'an artificial lake', Narrow-gauge railway between Miskolc-Diósgyor and Lillafüred with open carriages, Anna Cave.
