Monterosso al Mare Accommodation

Searching for hotels in Monterosso al Mare (Italy) or Monterosso al Mare accommodation?  Monterosso al Mare was once an isolated fishing village, accessible only by mule track or by the sea. These days, however, this little town in Liguria, in the province of La Spezia, Italy, is a sought after seaside resort area.
If you visit Monterosso al Mare, you will discover that the town is divided into two separate and well-defined areas: the old town, where the historic buildings and other sights are located, and the new town, which is where the hotels, bars, restaurants, and beaches are found. The two are connected by a tunnel, and are otherwise completely separated.
In fact, it is this beach that distinguishes the town from its neighbors – it is the only sand beach of any size in the area of Cinque Terre.
Other attractions in Monterosso al Mare include the Genoese Castle, which has been partially ruined. The parish church of St John the Baptist is another historic building worth visiting, and dates back to the late 13th century. There are also extensive mule trails that still criss cross the countryside, and these have become increasingly popular with hikers and walkers.
