Wild animals such as jaguars and rare bird species reside in this jungle. Other reserves such as the scenic Bajo del Tigre and Santa Elena Reserve are worth visiting. You can learn the art of cheese making and get your fill of ice cream and milkshakes at the Monte Verde Cheese Factory.

San Luis Waterfall offers exciting water sports for the entire family. The Bajo del Tigre Nightwalk and the Hidden Valley Night Tour are opportunities which should not be missed. Monteverde’s Independence Day in September is one of the town’s liveliest celebrations. Colorful street parades, musical performances, dances and cultural pieces are the order of the day.
