The Komboloi Museum has an exclusive collection of 1500 kombolois from Middle East countries such as Asia Minor, Greece, Syria, and Egypt. The Peloponnesian Folklore Museum and the Ouzo museum also have interesting exhibits. The Palamidi and Bourtzi Castles are excellent 17th century fortifications that should be visited.
The two cinemas in Nafplion offer an excellent line up of recent movies. One is opened in the summer, the other at winter. This specialized function ensures that visitors get the best possible entertainment. The Nafplio Festival is held during the first summer month annually and is a very enjoyable event to attend. Nafplion’s locally made ice-creams are a tasty treat which should be tried as well as the unusual goodies at Alevri+Zahari Bakery. For a seaside retreat, you can venture into the town of Palea Epidavros or the fishing village of Vivari.
