or Nakhon Ratchasima accommodation? The city of Nakhon Ratchisima, which is the provincial capital of the province by the same name, is also the sixth largest city in the country. It’s located right on the edge of the Khmer region, and is about two hundred and sixty kilometers from the capital, Bangkok. Since there are no longer flights directly to the city, if you want to fly from Bangkok, you will have to travel to the city from the Buriram Airport, which is the nearest one that has flights to and from the capital. Alternatively, you could choose to take a bus, or a train, both of which are about a four hour journey. Once in the city, there are plenty of exotic and historic attractions to see. For instance, you could tour temples like Wat Sala Loi, which is built in the shape of a Chinese junk, among many others. Alternatively, you could visit museums like the Maha Weerwong National Museum, which houses exhibits including art and artifacts from the surrounding area. The Phmai Historical Park is another museum of sorts, this time outdoors, featuring historic buildings from the Khmer, a shrine, and a restaurant, among other attractions. The city is famous for its ceramics, so while a visit to the Mall, with its waterfall theme, and other shopping districts, is a must, visiting Dan Kwain, the main pottery centre in the city, is definitely something you should do, to get some of the unique ceramics. Thai food is of course, everywhere in the city, from street vendors to upmarket restaurants, and there are night clubs, bars and more to enjoy. When it comes to hotels, there are also plenty to choose from, although big name hotels are surprisingly scarce.
