or Narita accommodation? Narita is about 70km from Tokyo, and is a charming town with quaint, old, winding streets, lined with old wooden shops. Life here is very relaxed compared to the hustle and bustle of nearby Tokyo. As Narita Airport is Tokyo’s international gateway, it is a major congregation point for airline staff. This means that there is more to Narita’s nightlife than one would expect from this sleepy town.
You can reach Narita by plane, helicopter, train, bus, or taxi. Retrobus, train or the local bus network would be the way to get around Narita.
To get to the Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple, one has to walk through the kilometer-long giant shopping arcade from Narita station, Omoto-sando, filled with restaurants and shops. Make sure that you have the local currency, as most places will not take foreign currency.
A really good place to eat is Papas, a tiny place which only holds about 16 people, the food is fantastic, and the owner speaks great English. Other good restaurants are Café Le Bon, Grill House Hero’s and Lion’s Den. Then there are the popular pubs, Barge-Inn, The Cage and The JetLag Club, about 50 yards around the corner from The Barge Inn, which has a really friendly atmosphere, free popcorn and a delivery service from Papas.
