or Obidos accommodation? Obidos is a tiny town, with around three thousand inhabitants, in the district of Leiria, Portugal. One of the biggest attractions in Obidos, aside from the fact that it is on the Atlantic coast, is that it has a very well preserved city wall, and looks very much like what it once was – a fortified medieval town. Before that, however, it was a Roman settlement, and there is a Roman ruin very near to where the town, with its well-preserved castle and crenellated walls, sits on a hill. Aside from the city itself, which is a little like a living, breathing museum, and the castle, one of the biggest attractions in Obidos is the Praia D’el Rey, which is one of Europe’s top golf resorts.
