Evidence of occupation dates back to 550s BC, and is the site of a large Iron Age hill fort in Old Oswestry.
Things to see and do in Oswestry include the historic buildings in the town center, Whittington Castle, Shelf Bank, St Oswald’s Church, which is almost 1000 years old, as well as 12 other churches in the town, and the Cambrian Railway Museum.
