The island of Ko Samet is located in the Rayong Province of Thailand, quite near to the capital city of Bangkok. It is quieter than some of the other Thai islands, but that does make it perfect if you are looking for a relaxing holiday. The island is drier than the rest of the country, although there are occasional storms, and, thanks to an alleged occupation by pirates, is surrounded in mystery and legend.
