Saint Andrew Church is one of the largest Greek temples housing relics given to the city from Pope Paul VI. The Byzantine Holy Church of Pantokrator and the Roman Odeon which is a lovely Roman edifice are beautiful sights. A trip to the Achaia Clauss Wine Factory is recommended. The Municipal Gallery features intriguing exhibitions while the Municipal Theatre Apollo hosts lovely cultural performances from time to time. The famed Rio-Antirio Bridge can be seen in the city.
Patras is home to ancient Turkish baths which are still available for use today. The city has a number of bars, cafes and restaurants which features tasty local cuisines and international dishes. There are a variety of shopping areas with diverse forms of Greek handicrafts, clothing, fresh produce and memorabilia. Patras Carnival in January is one of the biggest cultural events in Europe. It features street parades, balls and cultural performances and acts. The International festival of Patras in summer comprises many entertaining plays, dances and other dramatic acts.
