NSW)
or Penrith accommodation? The small town of Penrith is located in Cumbria, northeast of the famous Lake District. It is a small, market town, but one that has some very interesting historic sites to visit. To reach Penrith, you will need to drive yourself, or take the train from London or Glasgow, and, once there, you should have no trouble walking to most of the attractions. One of the biggest attractions is the ruin of Penrith Castle, which has a long history dating back to 1399, which was when William Strickland first started to build the imposing structure. They were later the residence of Richard, Duke of Gloucester, who later became the King of England, in 1483. Another interesting landmark is the Norse Cross that is known as the Giant’s Thumb. It has been standing in the churchyard of St Andrew’s Church since the year 920 AD. If you are willing to venture outside of Penrith, then the Brougham Castle, which is located just outside the town, and next to a Roman Fort, is also well worth a visit. - Browse the Penrith Map or compare Penrith accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
