or Perigueux accommodation? Derived from the word Petrocorii meaning "the four tribes", Périgueux district is a resort town and the capital of Dordogne. Perigueux is one of the largest preservation areas in France and has 9 communes and 39 historical monuments and is both antiquate and contemporary.
Some these monuments includes the Saint-Front Cathedral, which is a World Heritage Site, the cathedral of St Front and the Cathedral Saint-Face each exhibiting the true architecture design of the era in which they were built. There are four museums The Perigueux which gives an insight into the history of the Perigord, the Perigord Museum of Art and Archeology and the Gallo-Roman Museum Vesunna.
Some annual events in the town includes Festival Expoésie in June, Macadam jazz concert held in the street, the MNOP Festival of Music of the New Orléans and SINFONIA, International Festival of Baroque Music which are all held in August among others.
