Playa Blanca’s coastline is actually a large 9 kilometer bay which is then broken up into three large bays. Tourists often flock to Playa Blanca as its location makes its beaches ideal for swimming and sunbathing.
The town is blessed with having the Atlantic Ocean at its east, west, and south edges. This is why Getting to the town may be done via ferries, but those who are travelling by land may also go through the carriageway from Yaiza. The town is also surrounded by natural landmarks such as Montana Roja, which is a dormant volcano where tourists can walk up to and see spectacular views of Playa Blanca. At the north of Playa Blanca lies Los Ajaches, which is a protected area that is populated by stunning beaches and villages.
Until recently, Playa Blanca used to be a small fishing village, virtually untouched and undeveloped. However, with constant development being done in the town, tourists have begun to flock to the area and enjoy the small getaway that the town offers.
