or Pooler accommodation? The City of Pooler in Chatham County of Georgia in the United States had once been a simple railway stop – the last stop before Savannah – called Pooler’s Station during the Civil War. It was named after Robert William Pooler, a hardworking civic-minded resident who worked for the Central of Georgia Railroad.
The area around the station was bought and developed by Mr. Ben Rothwell beginning in 1883. The construction of permanent homes soon began; the homes were quickly followed by a sawmill, brickyard, and some churches. The town was incorporated in 1907. After that, the town quickly grew – banks, restaurants, shops, and other establishments soon developed in the town.
Today, Pooler is a modern city, the center of commerce and development in West Chatham County, and one of the fastest growing cities in Georgia. Local points of interest that attract many tourists include the Ogeechee Canal Museum, Mighty 8th Air Force Museum, Juliette Gordon Lowe House, Fort Pulaski Civil War Site, Telfair Museum of Art, Old Fort Jackson, and Tripplet Park, Roundhouse Railroad Museum. Visitors may also include the Ghost Hunters Tour, Trolley Tours, and Riverboat Cruises in their itinerary.
Those who want or need to prolong their visit in Pooler can find several accommodation options that would suit their requirements – some of the options include Jameson Inn-Pooler, Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Savannah-Pooler, Best Western Bradbury Suites, and Microtel Inn & Suites.
