The two Roman theatres have withstood the ravages of time; the Byzantine Chapel of St. Mary Formosa was built in the 6th century, the church of St. Francis dates from the end of the 13th century, the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the 6th century, and the Archaeological Museum of Istria is situated in the park on a lower level than the Roman theatre and close to the Twin Gates. Another point of interest is that Pula is the end point of the EuroVelo 9 cycle route that runs from Gdansk on the Baltic Sea through Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.
