Searching for hotels in Rugby (England) (United Kingdom) or Rugby (England) accommodation?  The town of Rugby, in Warwickshire, in the West Midlands, is an important one in England, but apart from any other achievement, it is probably best known as the home of rugby football. The town is near Coventry, and near to Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
The game of rugby was invented at the Rugby school, which was founded in the 16th century. Of course, the sport evolved sometime after that, during the 19th century, but that makes the school all the more historic a place to visit.
One of the restaurants in town, the Brownsover Fish Bar, which is on Hollowell Way, was named the 2002 winner of the best fish and chips restaurant in the country. Since fish and chips is an English classic, its well worth testing this fare!
St Andrew’s Church, which was initially built in the 13th century, and later rebuilt, is one of the historical sites in the town that are worth visiting. The gallery and art museum are another attraction of interest, and they do house some of the Roman era artifacts excavated in the area.
While Rugby is not a huge town, and you are unlikely to find many large hotel chains and intense nightlife, it is nonetheless an interesting place to visit, and well worth the effort if you plan to be in the area.
