It is located at an elevation of nearly eight hundred meters, and is known as the gateway to the Pyrenees. This little town may not be able to rival some of the big cities for hustle and bustle, but it has a history that spans over two thousand years, and is located in one of the most beautiful mountain areas in the world. The town of Sabinanigo itself lies in a valley in the Pyrenees, through which the Gallego River and the Aurin River Flow. Within this valley, and the surrounding mountains, a variety of sports are on offer, with cycling being one of the most popular and well known. It is also near to the ski resort areas of the Pyrenees, including Panticosa and Formigal, which is Spain’s largest ski resort.
