or Saint-Lary-Soulan accommodation? A district in the Hautes-Pyrénées department, southwest France, Saint-Lary-Soulan is south of Tarbes. It is adjacent to Le Néouvielle Nature Reserve and Pyrenees National Park. It is among the largest ski resorts in the French Pyrenees with some incredibly high slopes.
There are over 50 pistes in and around the District. Some of these skiing areas include the Pla d'Adet which also has a toboggan run and a snow park for kids; the Espiaube which is for professional skiers, and the Mirabelle. The Saint Lary 2400 also has catered for activities at its snow park such as snow-shoeing and is used as a rink and stadium in the summer.
If you enjoy outdoor activities then hike to or take a nature walk in the Pyrenees National Park or the Néouvielle Nature Reserve. Participate in the Tour de France, which takes you through mountains such as Col d'Aspin, Col de Peyresourde, Col du Tourmalet and Pla d'Adet. Other activities include cross-country skiing, ski raid, winter mountain climbing, dog-sledding, snowmobiling, paragliding among others.
Enjoy annual events such as Saint Lary Supercross and the Freeride Film International Festival in January, the Rossignaol Air and Demo Tour in February plus the X'Trem Freeride, a multigliding Freeride championship. One main feature of the Saint-Lary-Soulan district is Handiski, a program which allows handicap persons to ski and participate in mountain climbing. You can even town-hop to nearby Spain.
