or San Luis Obispo accommodation? San Luis Obispo is a city in the central coast region of California, and is often referred to by its initials “SLO” (slow) or San Luis. Situated in the city is Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, one of the best-preserved examples of 18th century Spanish architecture, and is a definite “must see”. You can get in to the city by plane, train, car and bus, and the car is the best way to get around easily in the city.
When visiting San Luis Obispo, one of the things to see, although a bit gross, is Bubble Gum Alley, a wall where, for years, people have contributed to the wall by leaving pieces of chewed gum stuck to the wall. Other things to see include The Palm Theatre, California Polytechnic State University and Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, which includes a number of shops and restaurants. A visit to farmers market, Montana de Oro State Park and San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum are a few more places offering the visitor more things to do in the city.
Some of the really great places to go and do a spot of shopping include The Gap, Pottery Barn, Victoria’s Secret, Cheap Thrills and Recycled Records and Boo Boo Records, where they sell new and used CD’s and vinyl records.
Big Skye Café, many times voted as the best value in town, has great food and very friendly attentive staff. Some other restaurants include Farmer’s Market, Nona’s Italian Deli, Firestones and Thai Classic. There are also many pubs and bars in the area to choose from.
