or Sanremo accommodation? Sanremo is a city on the Mediterranean coast of western Liguria in north-western Italy. It was founded in Roman times and is now best known as a tourist destination on the Italian Riviera and is a popular resort town on the west coast of Italy.
Sanremo features several attractions La Pigna, the pedestrian-only medieval center, The stunning Madonna della Costa Sanctuary above La Pigna, A picturesque harbor lined with cafes and seafood restaurants, Gardens and the Casino. Sanremo is well-experienced at entertaining leisure-seekers. As well as all the usual seaside facilities, the town also offers an 18-hole golf course, horse-riding and boat trips (as well as gambling, naturally). It's well-worth exploring more of the coastline like the smaller nearby towns such as Ospedaletti offer more peaceful surroundings and charming beaches, while the French Riviera and Monaco are just a train ride away.
Sanremo is famous for its Italian Song Festival held in late February. There's also a European music festival in June, Rock festival in July, and Jazz in August. Shows and concerts are held throughout summer. From October through May, the Opera Theater at the Casino holds performances by the Symphonic Orchestra. New Year's Eve is celebrated with music and a big fireworks display by the sea at Porto Vecchio, the old port. The Sanremo Flowers parade is held at the end of January. Many sports events, including water sports, are held throughout the year, too. Sanremo's lodging options tend to consist of rather old-fashioned hotels that have a faint air of having seen better days. However, hotels range from budget to luxury standard.
