or Santa Ponsa accommodation? Santa Ponsa is a historic resort town on the Spanish island of Majorca. It is located in the municipality of Calvia, in the south west of the island, quite near to the capital of Palma. After centuries of Moorish rule, Santa Ponso is the spot where King James the First of Aragon landed in the 13th century. It was after he had conquered the Arabs that the island of Majorca reverted to Spanish rule. The location of his landing is indicated in the marina with a cross, and every year, the anniversary of his victory is celebrated on the island in the month of September. Aside from the historical significance of the city however, it is still a tourist resort, and there are beaches, bars, restaurants and other amenities on offer, as well as a range of accommodation.
