Italy)
or Saronno accommodation? Saronno is an honorary city in the region of Lombardy, in Italy’s province of Varese. It is best known as a producer of the world famous Amaretti biscuits, and is a commercial and industrial centre. The city of Saronno is easiest to reach by rail, usually from Milan. There are however trains to and from other cities and towns in the area. When in Saronno, aside from sampling the biscuits, be sure to visit the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi. This church was originally built in the 12th century, and then renovated in the 15th. Although nothing remains of the original, small parish church, it is still a historic site well worth visiting. The domed church of Madonna dei Miracoli, which is a much larger, grander structure, is another historic building well worth visiting. This one dates to the 15th century, and features frescoes by Bernadino Luini and Gaudenzio Ferrari. - Browse the Saronno Map or compare Saronno accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
