United States)
or Scranton accommodation? Scranton, also known to be the “Electric City”, is located in Lackawanna County of which it is the county seat, in Pennsylvania, United States. The city had once been an industrialized one, with coal, iron, and its railroads from around 1846 to 1899 but the iron ore supply soon dwindled leading to the loss of the industry that founded the city. The coal mines also received a heavy blow after the Knox Mine Disaster while the coal production and demand also slowed down.
Today, most of the structures that had once been the center of trade and economy in the city are now tourist attractions and historical landmarks; museums had also been created to trace the city’s history or display various historical artifacts. Some of these are the Steamtown National Historic Site (for the railroad industry), Electric City Trolley Museum, Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour at McDade Park, Everhart Museum, and the Houdini Museum. Examples of other local attractions are the Snö Mountain Ski Resort, Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain, and the Scranton Cultural Center.
Some of the hotels operating in Scranton are the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, Econo Lodge Scranton, and Clarion Hotel. - Browse the Scranton Map or compare Scranton accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
