or Seaside (Oregon) accommodation? Seaside, Oregon is a city in Clatsop County in the US which got its name from the Seaside House which was built by Ben Holladay in the 1800s. The city sits at the edge of the Pacific Ocean and is bordered by the Tillamook Head on the southern portion of the town.
Seaside is a popular summer destination for tourists who are here for the colorful festivals and the powdery beaches. The Annual Volleyball tournament is a major crowd drawer, as well as the Hood to Coast relay race and the Portland-to-Coast relay walk. Most of the festivals and other events are held in October, which sees a swell in the population as tourists pour in from the neighboring towns. Seaside is also the host of the Dorchester Conference, a convention for the Oregon Republican Party. The convention is held annually every spring and draws politicians from all over the country.
Other interesting attractions worth a visit in the city include the Seaside Aquarium and the Lewis and Clark Monument, which is just a stone’s throw away from each other. The Seaside Civic Center is another attraction.
