Hidden Pond Nature Center is a 25-acre park, tucked away in Springfield and features live displays and exhibits of wildlife in Fairfax County, a pond, and woodland and streamside walking trails. A foot trail connects it to the larger Pohick Stream Valley Park. Lake Accotink Park, on the other hand, is a 493-acre park where visitors can go fishing and boating on the 55-acre lake, picnicking on the picnic shelters with grills, and hiking or biking along the trails. It also has a miniature golf and an antique carousel.

Those who want to experience the nightlife in Springfield may try to visit JAXX Concert Hall and Night Club. It is one of the best clubs in the Mid-Atlantic, offering food and drinks, and live music. Other sources of entertainment in Springfield are available at the South Run Recreation Center and Springfield Golf & Country Club. More attractions are found in nearby Washington D.C., which is only a few minutes drive away.
