or Stendal accommodation? Stendal is a town located in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It lies along Uchte River, north of Magdeburg. Stendal was also once the capital of the Altmark division of Brandenburg it's the capital of Stendal District and unofficial capital of the Altmark. It is located some 125 kilometer west of Berlin and around 170 kilometer east of Hanover. Stendal contains a massive amount history such as the Theatre of the Altmark, Winckelmann Museum whose holdings include biographical documents, works, designs and diagrams in addition to Greek sculptures or casts, along with other small artworks from antiquity. The town also has the Landesfeuerwehr museum, which shows the development of fire fighting and protection from the leather bucket to modern fire engines. Other buildings include the Gothic cathedral, the Town Hall with the statue of Roland and the two mediaeval town gates. There are also other churches in the area. Medieval and Renaissance buildings include the cathedral from the year 1188, St. Mary’s Church from the year 1447, and the town hall.
