or Stow-on-the-Wold accommodation? The town of Stow –on-the-Wold is located at around two hundred and fifty meters above sea level, on a hilltop in Gloucestershire, England. It was founded in the 14th century, as a market town, by the Norman lords of the time, and has always sat at the convergence of several major roads in the Cotswold’s area. These days, there is no direct train service into Stow, although the Moreton-in-the-Marsh train station is only a few miles away, so it is still accessible by rail. Stow has also always been the site of a horse fair, which continues to this day, although these days, there are a vast array of goods other than horses that are on offer. There are also Iron and Bronze Age burial mounds in the area, and the Evesham Abbey, which was originally the centre of town, does still exist. Then there are the Cotswold’s themselves, which are very popular with walking and nature enthusiasts. - Browse the Stow-on-the-Wold Map or compare Stow-on-the-Wold accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
