or Tigard accommodation? Tigard is a city in Washington County, Oregon. It is located near Oregon’s Beaverton and Portland. First known as ‘East Butte,’ Tigard had its origins as a small community, the city being first settled in by the Tigard family in 1852.
There are two most notable landmarks in Tigard. One is the historic site in Tigard is the John Tigard House, a Gothic Victorian House constructed in 1889, which displays special exhibits on the afternoon of every third Sunday of every month. The other is the Washington Square, one of the largest climate-controlled malls in the Northwest. Those who want a quaint atmosphere for shopping and dining, however, may choose to stop by instead at Downtown Tigard, which is lined with antique shops, cafes, restaurants, and retail shops.
Tigard provides many opportunities for recreation and activity to its locals and guests with its many golf courses, hiking and biking trails, sports field and courts, and 7 neighborhood and community parks. The biggest park in town is Cook Park, which lies on the banks of the Tualatin River while the Fanno Creek and Summerlake Parks are home to local wildlife and waterfowls.
The city celebrated various annual community festivals reflecting it culture and heritage. Included in these festivals are the Festival of Balloons as part of the Portland Rose Festival, the 4th of July fireworks, the Family Festival in September, and the Downtown Tree Lighting in December.
