The town square date back to the 15th century and has vital clues to the town’s historic past. The 13th century church of San Nicolo which features Italian Gothic architecture and The Duomo built in the 1500s are worth visiting. The Museo di Santa Caterina is the town’s principal museum where the town's art gallery and archaeological collection are housed. The Town Museum, L. Bailo, is a former Jesuit monastery and the Casa dei Carraresi hosts temporary exhibitions in the city.
Numerous festivals are kept in the town right throughout the year. The Wine Festival is an intoxicating event celebrating the harvest from the vineyards. The International Multivision Festival features a week of celebrations with exhibits, installations, performances, concerts and multivision projections. There is also the International Chamber Music Festival, the colorful Combai Chestnut Festival and the International Guitar Festival in September and the Ombralonga in October which is a non-competitive marathon. Wine, meat, mushroom and cheese are usually main ingredients in the delicious cuisines at Treviso’s restaurants. Many shopping areas are present all over the city.
