or Vaxjo accommodation? This a small town that lies at the north of Lake Vaxjo and is the administrative, cultural and industrial center of the Kronoberg County. It was a market center back in the Viking days and it became a religious center with the building of the Vaxjo Cathedral in the 12th century. It is now home to the Vaxjo University.
It is admittedly not a booming tourist destination but it has its attractions. The city has 2 castles, Kronoberg Castle and Teleborg Castle, built in the 15th century and the 19th century respectively and they are both well worth a visit. There is the Smaland Museum with its coin and art collection and a collection of Swedish and foreign glassware, showing us the history of glass making. The cathedral is also open to visitors.
The restaurants in Vaxjo are all top notch and you will not regret eating at any of them as they only use fresh and organic ingredients. Accommodation is abundant for such a small town.
