United Kingdom)
or Witney accommodation? The town of Witney lies on the River Windrush, in Oxfordshire, England. The town grew up around the parish church of St Mary the Virgin, which was a Norman church. It was, however, extensively rebuilt in the 13th century, but is still a major landmark and historic site in the town. The market too, has been running since the Middle Ages, in the market square, and is still open on Thursday and Saturday. When in Witney, be sure to visit the Cogges Manor Farm Museum, which is housed in an actual 13th century farm. The Witney District Museum is also worth visiting, and is home to several artifacts that relate to the town and its surrounds. Witney is a small, quaint, typically English town, with pubs, inns and a high street lined with shops. It may not offer the excitement of the big cities, but it is well worth a visit if you are planning a trip to the area. - Browse the Witney Map or compare Witney accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
