There are many famous attractions such as the Kaiyuan Temple, which resides in the urban area of Xingtai. This temple was built in the first year of Kaiyuan period in the Tang Dynasty (AD713). Another renowned architecture is the Qingfengdian which was built in the Ming Dynasty and the Guo Shoujing Memorial Hall which honours an ancient scientist of GuoShoujing, who lived in the Yuan Dynasty.
The mysterious tree peonies in Baixiang County, which was over 2000 years ago planted in Han Dynasty are as huge as rocks and eight feet high. Tourists are also drawn to ‘Bian Que Temple’ (Bian Que is a famous doctor in Spring and Autumn Period) in Neiqiu County and a stone inscription about Fu on Plum Blossoms, carved by emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty on the stone tablet of Song Jing, the Prime Minister of Tang Dynasty in Shahe City. The Baiyun Cave of Kongshan Mountain, a provincial panoramic spot, relishes the reputation of ‘the Uniqueness of the North’ in Lincheng Country.
There are numerous places of interest in Xingtai, such as Corrosion Cave, Qin Wang Lake and Lingxiao Mountain and Gorges of Taihang Mountains which is a formulated community consisting of l 24 gorges along the Taihang Mountains creating a series of spectacular sights. An annual event Xingtai is the Three Gorges tourist festival celebrated in June. Overall Xingtai exhibits a rich culture and is an exciting city to vacation.
