Handicrafts such as the Guiwen Stone Carving and Tujia Brocade, exotic fruits such as the Chinese gooseberry and oranges, and some Chinese tea are local products worth stocking up on. The Junsheng Painting Institute is home to some amazing sandstone paintings. An excellent way of mixing with the locals and learning more about Zhangjiajie culture is by visiting Daong Town where you can observe the folk-custom activities such as making rice paste, weaving silk tapestry, blanch and dye with wax printing, listening to crying mary, and the intrigue of reading woman’s handwritings.
